Connect with Poly, ITE and Private Diploma Students

My faith journey started in the years gearing up for Confirmation and that was when I had my first encounter with God. However, the worldly distractions overcame me, and I would only turn to God when I needed Him. Soon I became distant from my faith and this lasted till the end of my 1st year in Republic Polytechnic.

I was invited to attend an OYP retreat called “Shine”. I was very sceptical about signing up for it, as I thought it would be like any other camp I have been to and the outcome will be no different, but I took a leap of faith and registered. Little did I know that my life was going to change. The Shine retreat was the beginning of my transformation and my yearning for the Lord. It was in Shine where I discovered that we have catholic communities in our various tertiaries and RP was one of them. In my 2nd year in Polytechnic, I was invited to join the RP community but I was hesitant because I had many fears. I was afraid to open up to a bunch of strangers, of being judged and that I would not be able to give the expected correct answers. But despite all my fears, I went for the first session and lasted through the awkwardness and decided to give this catholic community a shot.

One year later, I am grateful to have been part of this community and it has become a second family. At the same time I now serve as one of the RP Community Leaders. I have been blessed with an amazing gift of each of the members journeying with me in faith and friendship. I give thanks to God for the path he has brought me and the gift of these special people and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Combine gathering with Republic Poly, ITE and private diploma students for fellowship

Are you seeking a life of Christ that makes a difference? Do you find it daunting as you move from secondary school to a tertiary education? Whether you are in a polytechnic, pursuing your diploma in a private institution or in ITE, we seek to lead young people to a loving relationship with Jesus Christ and a lifestyle of discipleship. Student life can be nourished and anchored with a Christ-centric campus community.

We want to propose that it is a necessity to seek Jesus as we pursue our academic endeavour. As we have campus communities across all the institutions, we would like to invite you to join a group of like-minded students to live a life ‘more alive and fully’. We meet weekly for formation, to dwell in the Word, to proclaim Christ and His Goodness in our lives.

Are you a polytechnic, ITE or  private diploma student?
