His Safe Embrace

I was overwhelmed with the familiar feeling of being lost – the grass wild and tall around me and the storm clouds gathering overhead. In my sobbing and wretchedness, I cried out to the Lord, desiring only to touch His cloak as He passed. But Jesus came, found me in my hiding place, and gently embraced me with His nail-scarred hands. His light shone through the storm clouds, and His voice called new life and freedom into me: “My Beloved, you do not need to hide anymore. I see you and I love you.” The Lord continues to encounter me intimately all the days of my life.
