I Am Loved

Through SOW, God has grown and nurtured the tree of love and grace inside of me. This growing tree is overshadowing the tree of lies I have been unknowingly nurturing throughout my whole life. Self-love has been a constant struggle for me for many years, but after having experienced God’s immense love, I truly want to chop down the tree of lies and learn to love myself. The lyrics, “There is no shame, there is only pride” from the song “I Am Loved” by Mack Brock always serves as a reminder that I am worthy because God makes me worthy.

‘Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But, if it dies, it produces many seeds.’ (John 12:24) In this Sunday’s Gospel, we’re reminded of the reality of death. At first glance, we may be quick to think of the physical and natural aspect of death. Yet, the call of Christ also entails dying to self – surrendering the desires, the habits and lifestyles that prevent us from following and loving Him.
