He Loves Me For Me

“I came to this retreat broken and desperate to receive God’s Love. I was deeply hurt and had not had the time and capacity to let my heart heal. I was tired of my lapsed cycle of committing habitual sin.

I encountered the Lord through the activities at Treasure. He tugged on my heart as I knelt in front of him. I realised that God was calling me to come out of my hiding place in a small box and asking me to surrender all my shame, hurts, self-condemnation and self-pity – the lies of the world.

As I surrendered to God, He affirmed my identity as His beloved daughter; I received His love and I felt the wound in my heart being healed. During the retreat I received an image that I was hugging the Lord like a little child in the arms of a father. I felt at peace with God, no longer anxious or scared. It was as if a huge weight had been lifted off my shoulders. Jesus said to me “You are my daughter, you have been renewed, I love you and you are mine”.
