Dear Friend,

But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God

– John 1:12

We hope that you we find you in good cheer! This issue, we share Lenten resources (created by our university students), faith resources, and more music for the soul!

As we navigate what it means to live and grow as disciples of Jesus Christ, let us remember that we do not do so alone. We have been adopted as sons and daughters of God the Father! So let us look to Him as our guide as we journey on!

As we continue to walk towards the manger in anticipation of the coming of The King, let do so knowing that we have everything we need for the journey ahead.

Now that we have begun the season of Lent, it’s a good time to review what Lent is really about. In this video, we talk about the meaning of Lent, and shed some light about why we observe this season.

To support and deepen our Lenten journeys with daily inspiration, we are rolling out a Lenten Booklet every Sunday. Look out for the first one this coming Sunday!

Lentent Booklet: Week 1

Learn About the Pillars of Lent

This book explores the life of St. Elizabeth of the Trinity and her call to holiness for the laity. This study will challenge you with spiritual inspiration and practical wisdom, revealing how to live in union with God in our everyday lives.

A devotional that comprises a different them to meditate on for each week of lent. Each week, pray with a reflection on the week’s theme, two personal stories, and meditate over Scripture.

A  pilgrimage to the cross through the lives of seven extraordinary women and men of God. Each week of Lent is dedicated to one of these exemplars of faith and action, prayer and perseverance.

Living a Life of Discipleship

As we continue with our Seasons of Growth Series, we share with you about the rigours of discipleship and what it looks like in the everyday.

” Choosing God in our daily lives will not be easy. It is so much easier to conform ourselves to the standards of the world and to just do what everyone else is doing. But God calls us to be set apart and to strive for holiness. When we’re tempted to revert to our old ways, remember that we are always given the option to choose life over death.” – Sandra Elizabeth Yim

He Has Changed My Life

For once you were in darkness, but now in the Lord you are Light.
Live as children of light.  (Ephesians 5:8)

“I was invited to attend an OYP retreat called SHINE. I was very skeptical about signing up for it, as I thought it would be like any other retreat I had been to and the outcome would be no different. However, I took a leap of faith and signed up. Little did I know, my life was going to change.

… One year later, I am grateful to have been part of this community and it has become a second family to me. I now serve as in the community as a leader. I have been blessed with the amazing gift of each member who journeys with me in faith and friendship. I give thanks to God for the path he has brought me to, and the gift of these special people. I wouldn’t have it any other way.” – Amber Chelliah, Republic Polytechnic
