Soul Food

Apart from our shared love for Jesus, we at OYP also share a great love for food so that tells you a little bit about our choice of words here!

But as it says in scripture,"Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God." - Luke 4:4

It is our hope that the stories and reflections you find here will serve to encourage and bless you on your faith journey. We hope it serves as a reminder that none of us are really alone!

OYP Family – CSS Testimony

I was first introduced to the law cell group at CSS FOC in 2017, just as I was about to enter university. I always remember my time at FOC as a very warm welcome to the campus community in NUS. I’ve never been very close to my parish community and the concept of “kingdom friendships” […]

OYP Family – CSA Testimony

The Gift of Vulnerability

By Natasha Lye  How often are we asked “how are you?” and we instinctively say “I’m okay”, even though there is a secret longing to pour our heart out and to be loved at our weakest? Has anyone ever told you to “just be strong”?  Have you been laughed at for crying because “real men […]

Befriending Your Desires

By: Aldrin Relador On a friend’s recommendation, I finished a film titled ‘Lars and The Real Girl’ a couple of months ago. The film centers around an awkward young man named ‘Lars’. Lars meets a quiet girl named ‘Bianca’. The twist: Bianca happens to be a life-sized doll. Fortunately (or unfortunately), Lars’ family and friends sustain his […]

Faith Stirs Faith

By Mitchell Han “These retreats are useless, they only give you a short spiritual high and then it doesn’t last.” It’s an oft-repeated story: A Catholic goes for a retreat and enters into a deep communion with Jesus. However, he doesn’t know what to do with all that energy and emotion once he exits the […]

Catholic Youth Day 2019 (Part 2): The Heart of Service

By Johannes Tjendro As our faith grows, God calls us to go out into the world to proclaim his name and invite the rest of God’s children home. It may bring us discomfort, but as we have received freely, we are called to give freely (Matthew 10:8). 22-year-old choir member Sabrina Lee “jumped” at the […]
