Testimony & Thanksgiving: Seek Ye First the Kingdom of God

by Lionel Lee

“But strive first for the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”

– Matthew 6:33

I attended the School of Christian Leadership 2018 (SOCL) feeling very lost and very dry and seeking things of this world and not of God. Having the realisation that i had neglected God, i seek to reconcile with Him.

Through the 10 days of SOCL, I learned that God has always been there for me. That His love is so great that no human can fully understand. But I as a human can embrace His love and live in this love.

SOCL also taught me to live a trinitarian spirituality. With God the Father, who created me and love me unconditionally. God the Son at the center of my life. And God the HolySpirit, who lives in me and blessed me with gifts to help me on my mission on this world. To always focus on His cross and everything else will fall in place.

Today, I live my life seeking to always be in connection with God, for God has claimed victory over my darkness. For Jesus said to me “My child, don’t cry. I love you and i want to heal you. I will never leave you. I will collect all your tears and make them into something beautiful. So should you ever cry again, it will not be tears of pain or hurt but tears of joy. So Smile. And don’t cry.” Praise the Lord. Amen.

The One Thing Necessary: 5th Sunday of Lent

‘Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But, if it dies, it produces many seeds.’ (John 12:24) In this Sunday’s Gospel, we’re reminded of the reality of death. At first glance, we may be quick to think of the physical and natural aspect of death. Yet, the call of Christ also entails dying to self – surrendering the desires, the habits and lifestyles that prevent us from following and loving Him.

The One Thing Necessary: 3rd Sunday of Lent
