LET US PREPARE TO WELCOME THE LORD

Calling all university students! The year has passed in a blur, and soon we will be welcoming the Lord at Christmas. We may not be able to have control over how we celebrate the infant King this year, but we CAN choose to prepare our hearts to receive Him. So come, join us as prepare for the coming of the King of Kings!

The retreat is open to all local and overseas university students. Grab a friend and sign up! Registration is open!

Honouring Our Outgoing Uni Leaders

As we welcome our new university leaders, we also want to thank all our outgoing leaders who stepped up last year to lead their university communities. They have sacrificed and served their communities selflessly! As we look back on the past year, we praise God for all the victories He has won for us! We pray that as the outgoing leaders embark on a new chapter, they may remember that Jesus continues to walk with them very closely in this new and exciting journey!  Here’s a look back on the academic year that has passed.

Testimony & Thanksgiving

“I would like to give thanks for His reassuring presence in my life. His gentleness, comfort and shelter He provides after a long day of work. Before GUR I was struggling to bring Christ into my workplace, but after GUR I am reassured that every small yes I say to Him through my actions or choice of words, that I am still allowing Him into my workplace a small step at a time. And now I am encouraged to continue building His kingdom wherever I am in my work, brick by brick.”
– Kimberly Yeo, SIM

Testimony & Thanksgiving: GUR

The Graduating Unversity Students’ Retreat (GUR 2020, 3-5 July) attracted the largest number of participants to date (more than 130 of them). The theme of the retreat is “The Lord will guide you always” (Isaiah 58:11). We thank the Lord that despite the fact that all sessions were done online, we were able to attract

Testimony & Thanksgiving: Grounded in the Lord

by Brendan Ng, Cambridge University (second from left, back row) Growing up as a cradle Catholic, I knew about God but was never convinced that He existed. He was just fiction. All this changed when I attended SOCL. Back in primary school, whenever I received any exam results, my dad would always compare them to those

Testimony & Thanksgiving: Masterpiece of God

Hello! I am Eric, entering Year 2 in SUSS, studying Human Resource Management. If I were to describe my life before SOCL, I would say it was alright. My prayer life consisted of me having routine prayer, watching spiritual videos and reading spiritual books. During exam period, it is only natural to have a “stronger

KICKSTART: Finding True Joy

by Brian Janelle Sanio, NUS CSS In the past, I never acknowledged the need for a Catholic community. I strongly believed that all I ever needed was my family and a private relationship with God. Past experiences with other retreats filled me with lies that introverted people like myself can never receive anything from such

We are a small but growing community of SIT students journeying together to live out Christ in our daily lives, especially amidst the hectic university life. We have Cell Group every week at Dover campus, and monthly formation sessions for all at the Office for Young People. SUTD Refuge Catholic Community

University is an important and defining time for all of us. SUTD is a challenging place to be. It stretches both our academic and mental capacity. We hope to be pillars of support for each other and to grow in our faith journey through prayer, fellowship and discipleship as a community. We meet on Mondays at 6pm for dinner, fellowship and prayer meetings. Join us as we build community and be missionaries for Christ!

SUSS Catholic Students Community

We meet every Tuesday at 7:30pm on campus. If you are interested in learning more about us, please contact Debbie, who is our pastoral shepherd.

NUS Catholic Students Society

We serve the Catholic student community on campus, while striving to represent the face of Christ and His Church in the university enterprise. Under the direction of our Chaplain, we aim to foster spiritual growth and development amongst our members, while providing a strong base of spiritual and social support for young Catholic students striving to live the Gospel. At the same time, we strive to promote Catholic values in the wider society. We are a recognised student organisation under the NUS Office of Student Affairs, as well as a registered society under the Registry of Societies Singapore.

Mass is celebrated every Thursday at 6:30pm and Antioch sessions occur every other Thursday at 8:00pm. To find out more, please contact us at the email address below!

Chaplain: Office for Young People

YALE-NUS College: Ubi Caritas

Ubi Caritas is a small but spirited University Campus Community at Yale-NUS College. It was born out of a desire for shared discipleship and Christian support through the often provoking intellectual environment at the liberal arts school. The brothers and sisters of this community have been constant reminders to one another of God’s grace, providence, love and patience as we meander through these pivotal years of our lives.

Ubi has always been conceived of as a family, built on the foundation of Jesus Christ and his Church, and seeking to bring His light and mission onto our campus. Our community meets weekly for formation sessions and cell groups where we read and reflect on Holy Scripture and catch up regularly with each other. We also currently have daily rosary, and weekday mass is just a hop and skip away (Holy Cross) from where we are. Our community also works very closely with NUS CSS who always open their events to us and provide prayers and support in various ways.

Singapore Catholic Students in Europe

We are a community of Singaporean Catholic university students spread across Europe, who are on a journey of growing closer to the heart of our Father, even as we are geographically far apart! Shepherded by the Office for Young People (OYP), under the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Singapore, we are pilgrims scattered throughout the continent, but united together in faith. Since its genesis in 2018, our small community has grown and expanded in size and spirit. Despite physically living in a foreign land, we aim to bring each other home to our Father’s house.

Our community gathers Singaporean students in Europe to partake in the mission of raising up a generation for Christ. We hold regular community events, including weekly online cell group sessions, times of fellowship, as well as Days of Recollection held throughout the academic year. Just as God sends us forth, He does not abandon us nor forsake us. As a community of brothers and sisters, we encourage each other to grow in holiness and relate to each other with the mind of Christ. We hope that community living will inspire faith and provide support for our Singaporeans who are studying abroad, as a reminder of God’s love and a testament of his faithfulness!

SG Catholics in Australia

The AU community is a group of Singaporean Catholic students studying in Australia. As a community, we desire to encounter Jesus Christ while studying abroad. Although we may be far from home, we are never far from the One. So, we journey with each other to grow and deepen our personal relationship with God. Embarking on this journey to become intentional disciples, we constantly encourage each other to live out our faith as university students in Australia. Despite being apart physically, we are united as ONE church, ONE spirit, and ONE body of Christ.
