Holy Week: Wednesday

Then one of the Twelve, who was called Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests and said, “What are you willing to give me if I hand him [Jesus] over to you?” They paid him thirty pieces of silver, and from that time on he looked for an opportunity to hand him over. (Matthew 26:14-16)

As we enter into Holy Wednesday (also known as Spy Wednesday), we recount how Judas Iscariot went to the Pharisees and made the deal with them to hand Jesus over for 30 pieces of silver. Recognising that we too sometimes betray Jesus, let us ponder on our sinfulness and shortcomings with FAITH, knowing that Jesus desires mercy and forgiveness for us. In his infinite love and goodness, he enters into a world wounded and broken by sin.

Will you allow his love and forgiveness to speak to the depths of your heart?
