“A voice cries, ‘In the wilderness prepare the way of the Lord, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.’” Isaiah 40:3
As we approach the 2nd Sunday of Advent, what is the state of our hearts? Have we taken the time to enter into silence with God, allowing Him to reveal our inner dispositions towards receiving Him at Christmas? Or have we, perhaps, been too caught up to intentionally arrive into the Advent season?
In this week’s resource, we ponder more deeply on the states of our head and heart. In our own reflections, we too come face to face with the struggles of our hearts – the wrestling with God that comes with being intrigued, the deep ache to experience the fullness of hope and joy in Christ. Saint Augustine’s wise words truly hold true, our hearts are restless until they rest in God.
Let us take courage in bringing ourselves honestly and openly to God – He desires to restore your heart, and draw near to you.
Your fellow companions on the journey,
Gaby & Nat.
