FAITH RESOURCES

The Social Dimension of Evangelisation

“The Gospel is about the kingdom of God (cf.Luke 4:43); it is about a loving God who reigns in our world. To the extent he reigns within us, the life of society will be a setting for universal fraternity, justice, peace and dignity.” – Pope Francis, Apostolic Exhortation, Evangelii Gaudium

Desmond Soh from OYP working adults community, Genesis, shares his reflection on cooperating with the liberating work of the Holy Spirit in our interactions with others.

We pray that for God to be fully present in our workplaces and that the reflections from the Evangelii Gaudium stirs our faith in a deep way. Let us to move boldly with the Holy Spirit!

WEBSITE FEATURE

School of Witness Page

We recently wrapped up our 2021 School of Witness; an eight week discipleship school. Indeed, we were reminded that nothing is impossible with God.

Over the course of the school, our young people experienced an environment of faith in which they were encouraged and challenged to go beyond their comfort zones, and grow in the awareness of who God is, and who they are.

We are pleased to share their beautiful experiences of our good and faithful God with you via the School of Witness page on our website. You will find testimonies, original artwork, and receive the Good News through various creative forms.

SHARE THE FAITH

Project Taste and See

“If I find in myself desires in which nothing in this world can satisfy, the only logical explanation is that I was made for another world.” – C.S. Lewis

This Easter, we invite you to keep to think of one person that you would like to share the faith with and pray for the opportunity to tell them about Jesus.

Are they someone new to the Catholic faith? Do they desire to find out more about our Church, and to connect with our communities? Perhaps they have been away from the Church – wherever they are coming from, let them know  that this Easter, Jesus welcomes them home.

Be bold in celebrating the resurrection, and sharing the gift of Jesus!

I am grateful for my fellow chaplain Fr. Jude, staff and fellow collaborators who come alongside us to do this work.

Anything by Henry Nouwen. His books are easy to read and offer practical insights for discipleship.

Fr Jude David, OYP Chaplain

1. Tell us about how God called you to OYP.
God called me to OYP through the Archbishop, who appointed me to this responsibility.

2. What are the things that give you joy in your work?
I appreciate the opportunity to co-labour with many passionate people for the Lord and His Church and to concretely impact the lives of young people in living a more abundant life in Christ.

3. What is your favourite book, and why?
Reaching Out by Henri Nouwen. It was a book that spoke to my heart when I was younger, and it is a book I often recommend as the first book to read to young people I journey with.

TESTIMONY & THANKSGIVING

A Life in Christ, ALIVE in Christ

For once you were in darkness, but now in the Lord you are Light.
Live as children of light.  (Ephesians 5:8)

“Coming for Seeds of Growth (SOG) allowed me to feel closer to god and reminded me that He is present despite the hecticness of school life. I’m thankful for the strength and love He always pours into my heart no matter how far I stary from Him.” – Joanna Ong, Participant

“Journeying with the participants and seeing their desire for God has really inspired and stirred an even greater desire within me to walk with Jesus. Hearing them share about how God has worked in their lives has also reminded me of His faithfulness in mine. Even as I struggle to walk with Him, He never gives up on me! I thank the Lord for always calling me home to Him!” – Fergus Phua, Service Team
