God’s Light Shines through Any Darkness

by Vivien Mak

This simple picture of sunlight shining through an open window shows how GOD’s light shines through and cuts through any darkness. Even in the darkest of moments and the most hidden of corners, His lights finds a way to penetrate through and shine on those who love Him. Even in the most simplest of things and little moments, one can always see His presence in the radiance of the light that surrounds us.

For in Him all is radiant and illuminated, His light paves a way for all. Even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you. Psalm 139.

Walking Through Lent: Love Came Down

Pope Benedict XVI encourages us to keep our eyes on the Lord. He writes that the Cross “speaks to all who suffer…and it offers them hope that God can transform their suffering into joy, their isolation into communion, their death into life.” In Christ, the weight of our sin and shame is replaced by His overwhelming, and limitless love. In this very love, we are invited to unite our hearts with Him, to draw close and experience the redemptive, transformative, power of Christ and His sacrifice.
