Dear Friend,

“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” – Proverbs 3:5-6

In these final days of Ordinary Time before we enter into the season of Advent, we pray that anticipation builds in your hearts as we make the final push in our walk towards Bethlehem.

This year has been one of the most challenging for humanity as a whole as we have all had to deal with many things being out of our control.

But, we thank the Lord for bringing us to the poverty of the manger and in doing so, uniting us with Jesus Christ ever more deeply. As we enter Advent, may Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love be renewed in you!

Hold fast in faith dear friends, for Jesus WILL come!

In God’s Love,
The Team, Office for Young People

Diving Deeper Into Kingdom Friendships: Part 3

“Bear with one another charitably, in complete selflessness, gentleness and patience. Do all you can to preserve the unity of the Spirit by the peace that binds you together.” Ephesians 4: 2-3

In this final video of the series, Julian and Joshua summarise the key themes from the kingdom friendship interviews from the last two videos. They reflect on the key elements of kingdom friendships, how they are formed, and how God’s goodness is present in them. They also talk about what to do if you desire a kingdom friendship, and what you can do with your current friendships.

We hope this video series has blessed you and stirred a desire to seek out and cultivate your own kingdom friendships. If this video has touched you, please DM @oyp.sg to let us know!

A special thank you to our 4 pairs of kingdom friends:
Brenlyn Ng, Bryan Francisco, Geraldine Soh, Gregory David, Jon Chua, Ryan Tay, Sarah Cheong, Natasha Lowe

“Today salvation has come to this house.” – Luke 19:9

Close to 200 young working adults spent the weekend of 5 – 8 Nov with the Lord at OYP’s 12th run of the Treasure retreat! COMBINED UNI RETREAT 2020

Combined University Retreat (CUR) is a retreat for all university students both local and overseas, to prepare our hearts to receive Jesus – the true reason for Christmas!

“Through CUR, I am reminded that I am free, that Jesus sets me free everyday if I choose to let Him. I can claim that because I love Jesus, I am free to let go of my guilt & shame, if I want Jesus to fill all of my heart, there is no room for this guilt & shame. I can claim that I know the God who loves me, the God who has never changed the way He has looked at me since the day I was conceived.” – Erin Chuah, NUS, Participant

“I came into CUR feeling weighed down by project submissions and exams and my spiritual life was very dry. I felt unworthy for being chosen as a facilitator. However, during CUR, I fell in love with God once again and broke down during the adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. He reminded me that I was a beloved child of God and that he will never ever stop loving me. God reminded me that he will always be faithful even when I am unfaithful. Leaving CUR, I am renewed and am empowered by God. I am recommitted to this one true faith that we have and I will continue to choose Jesus just as how he chose me before he formed me in my mother’s womb.”- Sarah Luo, SUSS, Service Team

Sign ups closes on 30 November 2020 so wait no longer!
